Fire next to my apartment!

So TWO buildings down from my apartment (and keep in mind this is a super-dense area), there was a FIRE. Not just any fire, but one that brought in five large fire engines and many police and other vehicles.

My building is fine and it appears nobody was hurt in that building, but the whole incident was a bit crazy.

And it appears there is no smoke damage in my apartment.

On a nice note, it was touching to hear that I was welcome to crash at pretty much anyone's place if I couldn't get into the building.

My all-time favorite sci-fi romantic pairings

The rules: there are no rules.

1. Daniel Jackson + Vala Maldoran (Stargate SG-1)
2. Helo and Athena Agathon (Battlestar Galactica)
3. Doctor Ten + Rose (Doctor Who)
4. Fry + Leela (Futurama)
5. Rick Hunter + Lisa Hayes (Robotech)

Who said sci-fi can't have romance?

What happened to Friday nights?

Friday nights used to be so much fun. During the "on" season, I'd come home for an exciting block of three hours of great sci-fi: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica. It was a fun, "one, two, three" punch I could just relax and enjoy all evening.

But now, not only did sci-fi split up the shows to different showing schedules, but Battlestar Galactica is on SUNDAY NIGHTS at 10:00PM! Friday is the end of the week, typically long weeks. For me, I really enjoyed coming home on Friday, having something fun for dinner (order-in, take out) and indulging myself in "Sci-Fi Friday."

Alas, it's crazy now. Here is what's happened:

1. Battlestar Galactica was shifted to a different quarter than the Stargate series to be paralell to Doctor Who (2005) season 2.
2. After DW05S02 finished, it was moved from Friday night to Sunday night next to Dresden Files.
2. The new season of Stargate Atlantis has aired in Canada already.
3. The new season of Stargate SG-1 is almost done airing in the U.K. already.
4. Stargate SG-1 is cancelled after the end of this season.

So what do I do on Fridays now? Watch a few Futurama and Family Guy episodes on my DVR and go to bed early.

To Curry or Nap?

I wonder to myself if I should I go to Curry House or Hurry Curry and get some of that divine spice, or if I should I take a nap and catch up on sleep...

Which will win?

Gluttony or sloth?

Ghost Rider

I just got back from Ghost Rider.

It was quite fun! Being that I love both action and westerns, it was a pleasant surprise to see the two enjoyably combined.

PS: Eva Mendes is the most gorgeous woman working in film right now! IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0578949/
